National Data Opt-Out

The national data opt-out was introduced on 25 May 2018, enabling patients to opt out from the use of their data for research or planning purposes, in line with the recommendations of the National Data Guardian in her Review of Data Security, Consent and Opt-Outs.

Patients can view or change their national data opt-out choice at any time by using the online service at www.nhs.uk/your-nhs-data-matters.

Freedom Of Information

Information about the General Practitioners and the practice required for disclosure under this act can be made available to the public. All requests for such information should be made to the Practice Manager.

Breast Feeding Policy

The Practice will not discriminate against any woman in her chosen method of infant feeding and will fully support the visitor/patient.

  • All mothers will be enabled and supported to feed their infants in the Practice premises.
  • Signs welcoming breastfeeding will be displayed in the waiting room.
  • The Practice will ensure that its staff members make comfortable arrangements for mothers who would prefer privacy to breastfeed ie use of a spare room

Assistance Dogs

Trained Assistance Dogs Are Welcome at Penryn Surgery

Assistance dogs are specially trained to support patients with disabilities by performing specific tasks. These dogs may be trained either by recognised charities or by their handler. Identification (such as a harness or ID card) is helpful but not required.

Please note that emotional support animals and pets are not permitted inside the practice for infection control reasons and to ensure the safety of all patients.

When you arrive, our reception team may ask whether your dog is a trained assistance dog required because of a disability. This information will be added to your medical record for visibility to other NHS services.

If you need any adjustments during your visit, please let reception know. We can offer quiet seating, prompt rooming, and will minimise any temporary separation from your assistance dog wherever possible.
